19th December 2017
All of your children have worked hard this term and they deserve a good break with lots of treats! Let’s hope Santa is good to you all this year.
We hope you all enjoyed the children’s lovely singing. They all did so well. It is quite daunting for them when everyone arrives to watch. We are very proud of them! Please find the rehearsal video of the Christmas performance on Nursery’s webpage. If you took any photos or videos please remember not to share these on social media.
t There will be a few new children starting in January so please do welcome any new parents that you meet at the gate. The staff will be doing home visits in the first few days back. In the second week the new children will start to come in. We wish you all a Happy and Peaceful Christmas break!
15th December 2017
Don’t forget you are invited in to hear the children sing their Christmas songs on Monday the 18th of December. We hope you have all been practising the words as well!
On the day of the singalong the children will need to wear something Christmassy. It can be as simple as red or green clothes with a bit of tinsel, or they can dress up as a Christmas character. They can wear Christmas hats or reindeer antlers. We are leaving that up to you!
The children have all been hard at work making cards, calendars and decorations for their families. They will be bringing all of the things they made on the last day, Tuesday the 19th. (Please let us know if your child will not be here on the last day, so we can give them their things on the Monday.)
1st December 2017
This week we all enjoyed the story of ‘The Gingerbread Man’ Lots of the children made their own models. We did lots of counting buttons and even had some beautifully dressed ‘Gingerbread girl’ models. Lots of children are very good at retelling the story in sequence and we have started to make gingerbread people in salt dough for our Christmas trees.
Next week we will be starting to make all the Christmas items the children will bring home at the end of term. Santa’s workshop will be busy over the next few weeks making cards, calendars and Christmas decorations.
8th December 2017
Christmas has arrived in Nursery already. The children have been very busy in Santa’s workshop, making cards, calendars and Christmas decorations. We will be carrying these activities on next week so that all the children have lots of things to bring home at the end of term.
Don’t forget you will be invited in to hear the children sing those songs on Monday the 18th of December. The children have been practising all the songs. We have given out the song lyrics this week instead of vocabulary. Hopefully you can help the children practice at home over the next week or so. The Christmas singsongs will last about 20 minutes. Mince pies will be served to parents. If your child does the 30 hour sessions you can come to either singalong, as they will be so good, they will be performing twice.
