Zones of Regulation
We will continue to focus on well-being and mental health by following Zones of Regulation. This involves using coloured zones to both express our emotions and think of ways to regulate them.
These zones are:
Blue zone - sad, tired, bored, sick, not interested in learning
Red zone - angry, mean, hitting, shouting, wanting to disrupt own and others learning
Yellow zone - frustrated, silly, excited, worried, want to learn but finding it hard to focus
Green zone - focused, calm, feeling okay, happy, ready to learn
In the morning the children are encouraged to tell us which zone they are in. We like speak to the children in the morning to ensure any negative situation is dealt with first thing. The children can may change their feelings and zones throughout the day. We will support the children to get back to the Green Zone.
