Zones of Regulation
This year we will continue to focus well-being and mental health by following Zones of Regulation. This involves using coloured zones to express our emotions and thinking of ways to regulate our emotions. These zones are:
Blue zone - sad, tired, bored, sick
Red zone - angry, mean, hitting, shouting
Yellow zone - frustrated, silly, excited, worried
Green zone - focused, calm, feeling okay, happy, ready to learn
In the morning the children are encouraged to tell us which zone they are in. We like speak to the children in the morning to ensure any negative situation is dealt with first thing. The children can may change their feelings and zones throughout the day. We will support the children to get back to the Green Zone.
