At Whitings Hill Primary School we are lucky enough to have our own swimming pool on site where all children from reception - year 6 swim every week.
All children receive a high quality swimming lesson taught by Miss Gibson, Mr Collings or Mr Carter. We follow the Swim England Learn to Swim Framework and make sure all outcomes for the National Curriculum Key Stage 2 Criteria are achieved by the end of Year 6. Our children develop water confidence from an early age and continue to develop important swimming skills for life.
We offer the opportunity for our children to join the school swimming club where they then get the chance to compete in the Barnet Schools Swimming Championships each year, which we are proud winners of for the past four years!
Swimming is such a vital life skill which we are pleased to be able to offer to all our children. All children take part in various activities throughout the year including Galas, Swimathons and Drowning Prevention week. Children attending the school nursery have the opportunity to use our facilities with their parents on a Friday afternoon between 2.30-3pm. Feel free to come along!
