At Whitings Hill Primary School, we aim to teach a high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other activities.
We believe that physical education is a unique and vital contributor to a pupil’s physical development and well-being.
Provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health, fitness, well-being and to educate pupils about ways to lead healthy, active lives.
Provide pupils with opportunities to compete in sports and other activities to build character and help to embed values such as teamwork, respect, determination, resilience, passion and self-belief.
We believe it is of up most importance that we provide our pupils with the opportunities to develop these values throughout our PE curriculum, School Games (inter and intra) Competitions, Festivals and within our extensive range of after school clubs.
Provide opportunities for children in our school to be able to swim safey via weekly swimming lessons for all cohorts.

Implementation
At Whitings Hill we want to provide a challenging and enjoyable learning experience through a range of indoor and outdoor sporting activities including; invasion games, net & wall games, strike and field games, gymnastics, dance, swimming.
Continued investment in a consistent long term plan which sets out the PE units which are to be taught throughout the year and ensures that the requirements of the National Curriculum are fully met.
At Whitings Hill, we currently subscribe to Barnet Partnership for School Sports. Through this subscription it allows teaching access to CPD events and also provides our pupils’ access to the borough’s sports events, sports leadership programme, competitions, festivals and pathway leagues through-out the whole school year.
In EYFS – provide workshops to support parents and careers about their child physical development.
