November 2019

November already - time is flying by so fast it's hard to keep pace with it.  The children are rising to all the challenges put before them and are keen to share their existing knowledge and skills while at the same time developing new ones.

We have successfully completed our first half term of learning in Year Five and the children all performed well and shown enthusiasm for all the different learning they have done.

Our new topic for this half term is called 'Changing States and Anglo Saxons'. An electronic version is available to download on this, our 5M page. Please keep your copy on display so you can discuss with your child what we are doing each week in class.

A big thank you to everyone for attending our parents consultation evenings, it was a pleasure to have the opportunity to discuss your child's progress and attainment with you.  It was reassuring to see how highly you value your child's education and how much you support everything we do in school - your children are lucky to have such dedicated parents and carers.

November is a busy month for 5M:

  1. We will be going to the Vue Cinema in North Finchley on Friday 15th November to see a film. This is a free trip a part of the ’Into Film Festival’ which is run each year by The British Film Institute. All schools in the UK are given the opportunity to take their classes to a screening of one of the films being shown as part of the festival. The festival takes place each November.

2.Friday 15th  November is also our Children in Need fundraising day so everyone can wear their night clothes to school if they bring in a £1.00 to support this good cause. As we are going to the cinema in the morning the children in 5M can bring their night clothes to school in a bag and change into them when we return to school at lunchtime

          3. Preparations are underway for our Christmas concert and I'm sure you will be hearing                 your child singing Christmas songs to his or herself over the coming weeks! Please come             along on the day and support your child, it makes them so proud and happy knowing they             have family members in the audience. It will be fantastic and is not to be missed.
