The children all enjoyed Ark Farms visit. Lots of children went into the pen to touch the animals and they were able to describe what they felt like. The staff who brought the animals were very good with the children, and they answered lots of the children’s questions!
Next week we are going to follow the theme of treasure hunts. As some of the children have been making maps and telling us about buried treasure.
Next Wednesday the children who are coming into nursery in September will be coming to visit with their parents. The visit takes about 45 minutes of the session. Staff will take the present Nursery children to play on the field while this happens.
Details of our trip have been given out now so please return the slips as soon as possible. (If you have not received the letter please do ask for one.)

What a very busy week for nursery. We have had the reception meetings, sports day and the Zoo Lab visit. The children were noticeably tired by Friday, so bear this in mind at the weekend!
Thank you to everyone who came to support sports day, the children really enjoyed their day. A very special thank you to the PM parents for bringing their children in to take part in the morning. I don’t think the staff could have done it twice in one day after such a busy week!
I’m sure you will agree that the year 5 and 6 children who came to help us also need a special mention. They were all brilliant.
Zoo Lab was great as usual, and the children all enjoyed it. Gary that brought in the animals was really good with the nursery children and managed to answer lots of questions! There are lots of photos on Tapestry and we will put some on the website.
Next week Ark Farm are visiting on Tuesday. If you haven’t paid please can you do so as soon as possible via Parent Pay. Thank you. Following on from the farm visit our theme for the next couple of weeks will be farm animals.

We are still working hard on our environmental theme. The children have been decorating bottles and planted their seeds. The idea is that they look after the seeds themselves and see what grows! Each bottle has a Nasturtium seed and one other type of seed. All the things that grow will be edible, (Nasturtiums are edible as well) if the seeds come through please do put pictures on Tapestry so we can share them with all the children. We are going to be making a display picture on recycling next week so if you have any shiny paper, like crisp packets or coloured cellophane we could use please send it in. We have been talking to the children about waste and reusing things and they have come up with some good ideas, please do talk to your child about this and encourage them to take an interest.
5th June 2019
The chicks have arrived! They are very sweet, and so far very well behaved! The children are really enjoying having them in the classroom.
We are also working hard on our environmental theme. The children have been decorating bottles ready to plant seeds next week. We do still need some more clear plastic 2 litre bottles. If you have any please bring them in.
We have been talking to the children about waste and reusing things and they have come up with some good ideas. As we will be doing a display on the subject we will be trying out some of their suggestions!
