23rd April 2020

Hello everyone, we hope you are all safe and well at this difficult time. It’s great to see so many of you doing lovely things on your Tapestry posts, there are certainly some very creative parents with great ideas in this year group!

There have been a lot of free resources put on line, in fact so many it is a bit overwhelming now. This week thenational.acadamy/online-classroom launched, and it has some very well presented activities for early years children. The sort of thing we do in nursery during carpet sessions. There is a link and explanation on Tapestry if you want to give that a go.

We will continue to put weekly challenges for you to pick and choose from on Tapestry and on the website. Don’t forget to check out Nursery City, this week some new set one phonic games have been added. I am also sending a sample guide of the letter formation for lower case letters that we use when we do the children’s names.

Lastly don’t forget to upload photos and videos of all the great things you are doing at home onto Tapestry so we can see them and share some with all your nursery friends!

As you will be able to download your child’s Tapestry journal at the end of their time in nursery it is a great way to keep a record of this time and look back on it in future.

3rd April 2020

Hello everyone, we are hoping you are all staying well, and at least enjoying some of this unusual, but precious time with your children. We have seen some lovely photos and videos on Tapestry.

You are doing great things at home. We are getting a bit worried you are getting too good and we’ll be out of a job!

Remember have a look on Education City (log ins and instructions have been sent to your Tapestry journals.) Look on the nursery and reception pages of the website for links to things we have put up. Try out the activity ideas we post on Tapestry and have a go at the weekly challenges.

Keep having fun, playing imaginative games, counting games, shape hunts, painting, cooking, dressing up, dancing, reading stories poems and rhymes, making up nonsense rhymes, playing I spy games, drawing, throwing and catching balls, kicking balls, finding things from nature in the garden or on your daily walk, observing natural things from your windows, playing board games, talking and singing songs with them. Lastly don’t forget to upload your photos and videos on Tapestry so we can see them and share some with all your nursery friends!

As you will be able to download your child’s Tapestry journal at the end of their time in nursery it is a great way to keep a record of this time and look back on it in future.
