April

29th April 2021

All of our new children have started now and will continue to settle in over the next few weeks. Welcome to all you new parents and carers. We have been busy taking lots of pictures of your children in nursery and next week we will be sending you a Tapestry link. Once you receive the link please set up your login and you will receive regular observations of your children. You can also upload photos of activities the children do at home if you want to share them with the nursery.

As the weather improves the children will be able to start doing some gardening up at our newly renovated growing area. To fit in with this we are going to start a topic on mini beasts. If you would like to extend this at home do have a look around in the park or garden and see what you can find! Upload anything interesting and the children can show their friends what they have seen.

They will spend lots of time outside so please remember sun hats and to put on some sun screen before they come in for the day.

Nursery swimming sessions are resuming on a limited basis. They will be held on Fridays at 2.30 until 3.00pm.

The number allowed to the session will be limited to 10. The changing rooms will be restricted, so everyone will need to come wearing their swimming costumes. If your child is in PM nursery you can pick up early and take them around to the pool entrance. We will put more details and a sign up list out on Monday. Please sign up if you are interested in taking your child. (An adult must go into the water with each child.)

24th April 2021

This week we have been busy getting to know some of our new children. The older nursery children have been very sensible and helpful, helping them to settle in. They have been showing them where everything is and making sure they have somebody to play with. So very well done to them.

As the weather has been fine we have spent lots of time outdoors, looking for shapes, chalking letters and numbers, playing with the small games apparatus and generally enjoying the sunshine with our friends!

As the weather improves the children will be able to start doing some gardening up at our newly renovated growing area. They will spend lots of time outside so please remember sun hats and to put on some sun screen before they come in for the day.

Once everyone is settled we will get back to our weekly cooking sessions and we will start to do some outdoor PE with the children.

We are hoping that if everything goes to plan the nursery sports activity day planned for this term will take place. Fingers crossed, we will let you know the date a bit nearer the time.

The bubble system will continue through the school for the time being, regular thorough cleaning will be in place, hand washing on entry and at regular intervals through the day. One parents/carer to drop off/pick up and parents are asked to wear masks and remain socially distanced from each other.
