We believe that the learning environment is stronger when there is a continual communication and team work between home and the school. If you'd like to speak to us about anything, we are always here to help. Our Autumn term is packed with lots of opportunities for children to develop their interests and skills across different subjects. Our first topic will be Great Explorers!
Here, on this page, you will find information about what we are learning in 2Y as well as some general reminders. Don't forget to check out our class gallery for some amazing photos!
As we all know, reading and sharing books with children stimulates their imagination and expands their understanding of the world. It is therefore vital to provide opportunities for your child to explore, read and listen to a variety of text books as well as their home reading books.
The children will change their home reading books on Tuesdays and Fridays. Books will not be changed if the reading diary has not been written in. We listen to children's reading throughout the week, either as part of guided reading sessions, whole class reading or individually. We also have a library session every Tuesday afternoon when the children have the opportunity to share, explore and choose new books to take home. So please make sure your child return their library books on Tuesdays.
2Y have their PE sessions on Wednesdays. Children need to have their PE kit and PE shoes in school at all times. Please make sure all their clothes are labelled.
2Y have a swimming session every Thursday morning. The swimming session lasts for thirty minutes and the children are grouped by their swimming ability. Please ensure children have full swimming kit including a swimming hat.
