The last week of this half term has been a productive one. In English we looked at the poem 'The Door'. The children analysed this poem and wrote their own poems following the same format. The children have learnt about using similes, metaphors, alliteration, repetition and powerful adjectives in our poems. In Maths we have focused on column subtraction with multiple exchanges. Sam and I continue to be impressed with the children's determination and perseverance in maths. In Topic we learnt all about Septimius Serverus, a black Roman Emperor, and what he achieved whilst he was in charge or the empire. The children had an excellent time learning about how switches work in Science and creating circuits using switches. We were also lucky enough to try out motors and see how they worked. An excellent finish to an excellent half term in Turquoise class. Have a lovely half term everyone - you've earned it!
