July

14th July 2017

This week we continued looking at the text, ‘What the ladybird heard’. We focussed on rhymes, describing the characters and creating poems. We made ladybird sun catchers and split pin ladybirds.

As we are coming to the end of the school year we have collected the reading books and have kept the yellow reading diaries so they are ready to hand over to their new teacher.

We will also be collecting the children’s book bags to hand over to their new teacher. Please bring in a sturdy plastic bag on Monday 17th July so the children can collect all their work throughout the week. Please could you ensure that all the plastic bags are labelled with your child’s name.

7th July 2017

This week Ark Farm visited us on Tuesday. We saw so many animals and had the chance to stroke them. We looked at the farmyard story, ‘What the ladybird heard’. We made some books and wrote lists about what animals we saw. We painted farm animals, made a story map of the story and drew and wrote about our favourite parts of the story.

Next week we will continue looking at the story. This time we will be focussing on rhymes, describing the characters and creating poems. We will also make ladybird sun catchers and split pin ladybirds.
