The Caterpillar Room

We are thrilled to introduce a special new project: the development of a sensory room/low arousal space (the Caterpillar Room). This room is designed to support the many pupils who need a calming environment during the school day.

The room will include areas such as:

• A sensory calm zone with fidget toys, soft cushions, and beanbags and tactile wall
• A sensory circuits area to meet movement-based sensory needs. This will include equipment like a peanut ball, hand massager and sit and spin wheel.  
• Work station areas for specific pupils to help them access their personalised learning in a low arousal space.
